How to get compensation?

Hearing loss can significantly affect a person’s quality of life, but modern hearing aids can help restore the ability to hear. The State Health Insurance Fund (SHI) reimburses hearing aids for those patients who meet the established criteria and have a doctor’s referral.
What do you need to know about reimbursed hearing aids?

  • Free for the patient – hearing aids are fully financed by the SHI, so you will not have to pay for either the device itself or the production of individual earmolds.
  • Suitable for children and adults – hearing aids are programmed individually according to the hearing loss, regardless of age
  • Doctor’s referral – necessary – in order to receive a hearing aid with reimbursement, you need to visit an otolaryngologist who will assess your hearing condition and issue a referral.
  • Wide selection of models – both in-the-ear and behind-the-ear devices are available, taking into account individual needs and the level of hearing loss.
  • Modern and reliable devices – compensated devices are high-quality, comfortable and meet modern technical requirements.

For children

For a child under 7 years of age,
2 appliances every 3 years and
individual inserts every 1 year are reimbursed, while for a child over 7 years of age, both appliances and
inlays are reimbursed every 5 years.

For adults

For adults, both appliances and inserts are reimbursed every 5 years.
